LMDA & HLP
Siebel Institute laboratory media for the detection of beer spoiling bacteria in brewing culture yeast and beer samples
LMDA Lee’s - Multi-Differential Agar is a complex nutrient medium for the detection of microorganisms that are common in breweries. A special colony formation or a colour change of the medium enables the target germs to be identified. The addition of cycloheximide is possible to suppress the growth of culture yeast to detect mainly bacteria.
HLP-Medium - Hsu’s Lactobacillus/Pediococcus Medium allows fast and simple testing for the most common beer spoiling bacteria. Autoclaving the medium before use is not required. Differentiation and selective counting of Lactobacillus and Pediococcus can be performed after 5 days of incubation.
